Sometimes I’d sit at the counter all night drinking free refill coffees and chatting with the waitresses. They never gave me the boot for a $2 bill for an 8 hour stay, but I always tipped them based on the time I spent in the seat, not the $$ spent. Hell I even used to help them with odds and ends, like organizing their checks or refilling salt shakers.
