Today Arfred is serving Martin House – The Statement of Purpose, a 8% peanut butter golden stout. Never did grad school, so I never had to write a statement of purpose, but the thought of it terrifies me. Imagine if everyone had to do this on a much larger scale – state their purpose and justify their worth by defining how they’ll contribute to the world around them. I know this seems like an exaggeration, but the statement of purpose is essentially saying this is who I am and what I’m going to do with my life. Can you neatly box yourself into categories? Hell, I still feel aimless and uncertain most of the time, drifting with the current. Who is comfortable being measured? It feels like having to stand before Anubis and have your heart weighed against a feather. Raise your hand if you worry you’d fail. Did you live a good life and leave the world better than you found it? I don’t know how to answer that question. Cisco just recommended I switch to water.
